Implications of Holder Appointment

In 2004, Holder helped negotiate an agreement with the Justice Department for Chiquita in a case that involved Chiquita's payment of "protection money" (better known as death squads) to the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia, a group on the U.S. government's list of terrorist organizations. The agreement required, Chiquita's officials pleade guilty and paid a fine of $25 million. Holder represented Chiquita in the civil action that grew out of this criminal case. Writer Kevin Gray in Portifolio.com writes that for many years, Chiquita secretly paid off death squads in Colombia. Are we to assume Obama is blind to this fact? of course not. It is beyond comprehension why this would be Obama's face of "change" choice for Attorney General, or maybe not. So far the Chief of Staff appointment, who has strong ties to the Israeli lobby and the perspective Attorney General Holder are more of the same and are not in anyway the change we expect from the President-Elect. We will keep a vigiliant eye on the appointments to come and respond accordingly.
